General Travel Guidance

Currently, all non-citizens of the Federated States of Gapla are required to hold a visa to enter the Federated States of Gapla. Because Gapla does not have widespread international recognition, Gaplan passports may be rejected at nations that do not recognize Gapla, and in some cases, even possession of a Gaplan passport at an airport or international border crossing may result in persecution, despite the fact that Gaplan passports are valid travel documents under international law.

Therefore, we generally advise against using Gaplan passports for international travel in countries that do not recognize Gapla. However, usage of a Gaplan passport for international travel is legal under Gaplan law and will not result in persecution by the Gaplan government. The government is not responsible for any consequences arising from the use of Gaplan passports, fraudulent or legitimate.

The Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Swiss Confederation have tacit recognized the Federated States of Gapla, and therefore may recognize its passports or documents. However, this does not guarantee that a Gaplan passport will be accepted, nor does it guarantee that a Gaplan passport will not be accepted elsewhere. The Republic of Croatia is known to be likely hostile to the presentation of Gaplan passports.
